Your Solution
for Better
Communications
FEATURES
• Fully modular, 4U high, SDH/PDH multiplexer and cross-connect.
• Each basic unit consists of 14 I/O slots for different modules, supporting:
2 High-speed slots for E3, T3 and STM-1 aggregate (SDH capability).
2 CPU slots for CPU32, CPU64 and CPU128 common logic modules.
2 Power Supply slots for full range, AC/DC modules.
8 I/O slots for a wide variety of interfaces and services:
Up to 128 E1 electrical interfaces.
Up to 64 G.SHDSL ports with L2/VLAN switching capabilities.
Up to 64 LAN ports, with L2/VLAN switching capabilities.
Up to 48 data ports (V.35, V.36/V.11, V.24/V.28, X.21).
Up to 48 G.703, 64 kbps co-directional ports.
Up to 16 optical interfaces, compatible to DM 8192S or other E1 optical port.
Up to 80 PCM voice ports (FXS, FXO, E&M interfaces).
Up to 6xGbE ports with L2/VLAN aggregation and VCAT/GFP encapsulation capabilities.
Up to 6xGbE ports with CESoIP/TDM-over-IP capabilities.
• The DM 705SUB performs multi-service multiplexing over any existing infrastructure: SDH, PDH/TDM
or IP/MPLS network.
• CPU64/128 Common Logic module with new features and capabilities:
High-capacity cross-connection matrix, for up to 61 E1s in CPU64 or 257 E1s in CPU128.
Hierarchical clocking schemes.
Support to high-capacity aggregate and tributary modules.
CPU redundancy.
High-capacity, built-in, channelized router.
IN/OUT dry contacts for external alarms.
• 3-in-1 capabilities: standard Add/Drop Multiplexing, E1 cross-connection and grooming and multi-
service interfaces for data, voice, video and LAN.
• Several DM 705s may be cascaded over the same link to increase the number of ports or for drop-
insert applications.
SNMP-based management via DMView NMS. Remote management via LAN port or via dedicated time slot.
Download and TFTP support for easy software upgrades.
• Power supply covering from 36 to 72 VDC and 93 to 253 VAC, automatic selection. Optional redundancy.
• Compatible with DM 704, DM 705, DM 706, DM 4/16E1, DM 991 and DM STM-1 and standard E1 3
rd
party equipment.
DESCRIPTION
• The DM 705SUB is a fully modular SDH/PDH
multiplexer and cross-connect, supporting multi-
service access applications for fixed, wireless and
cellular networks.
• The basic unit, 4U height, provides:
2 power supply slots (optional redundancy).
2 CPU/common logic slots for 2 types of modules:
CPU32 for pure TDM/PDH applications – no
STM-1 capabilities.
CPU64 for mixed SDH/PDH applications – full
SDH/STM-1 capabilities.
CPU128 for mixed SDH/PDH applications -
128xE1 ports cross-connect capability.
8 I/O slots for multiple modules.
2 High-Speed I/O slots for E3, T3 or STM-1
aggregate (optical and/or electrical).
• DS0 cross-connect, non-blocking, for up to 8 E1s
(up to 248 time slots) with CPU32 and for up to
64 E1s (up to 1952 time slots) with CPU64 and
for up to 257 E1s (up to 8224 time slots) with CPU128.
• Time slots can be configured either for data or
voice, the matrix allows time slots from any
interface to be allocated to any other port, facilitating
drop-insert, bypass, broadcast and multi-point
applications.
• Any E1 port, optical or electrical can be defined
as backup for another E1.
• Data ports cover from low-speed (1200, 2400,
4800, 9600 and 19200bps) up to Nx64 kbps. Low
speed protocol is X.50, for sync/async applications.
Also available RS232/V.24/V.28 multi-drop
capability, compatible with SCADA applications
for utility customers.
• The V.35 interface can be utilized as aggregate
using G.704-defined frame structure, allowing
data/LAN/voice traffic over legacy microwave
networks.
• Several optical interfaces for both STM-1 and
E1 ports, for single mode or multimode fibers,
with dual or single fiber interfaces, reaching up
to 100 km.
